A Dowbuilt recruiter performs full life-cycle recruitment functions to source, screen and place candidates at every level of the business. This position works closely with the recruiting manager to own the recruiting process using creative and ethical sourcing methods, while maintaining Dowbuilt’s reputation as a great place to work!

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Partner with recruiting manager, other recruiters, marketing team, and hiring managers to understand successful candidate profiles and position requirements to meet staffing targets for a defined region
  • Research and identify new approaches to candidate sourcing in the existing and emerging markets in which we work
  • Leverage virtual networking events, meetups, etc. to make connections and build a pipeline of prospective candidates
  • Research applicable virtual and in-person career fair opportunities, then coordinate, plan and participate in the events to represent Dowbuilt internship and long-term employment opportunities across the company
  • Work with the Employee Experience Manager and HR Generalist to refine and formalize the details of Dowbuilt’s internship program
  • Create and post advertisements, prescreen applicants, maintain resumes and applications in ATS database
  • Search for passive candidates using LinkedIn and other recruiting sources
  • Own and manage an average of 20-30 open requisitions in the company website, ATS, LinkedIn and other recruiting tools
  • Own and manage application/resume filing and retention according to company policy and applicable laws
  • Schedule interviews with hiring managers, occasionally participate in interviews and provide relevant feedback, and proactively follow up with candidates throughout the interview process
  • Follow up with hiring managers and candidates to be sure appropriate expectations have been set with all parties
  • Work with recruiting manager and regional principals to define terms of an offer that fall within the company pay ranges by location, keeping in mind bill rates by project
  • Maintain and track ongoing communication with current talent pipeline in an organized, easy to follow format
  • Negotiate and extend offer letters to successful candidates
  • Tactfully communicate decisions to decline an applicant due to unsuccessful interview or poor skills/qualification fit
  • Conduct reference checks on all successful candidates
  • Coordinate new hire and benefits paperwork, onboarding, etc. with HR team
  • Communicate health and welfare package to qualified candidates in a thorough and informed manner
  • Communicate drug and alcohol policy requirements and schedule pre-employment criminal background checks and drug screens based on position requirements
  • Build rapport with those inside and outside the organization and at all levels of management
  • Work with marketing team to execute recruitment marketing initiatives and campaigns
  • Develop an understanding of relevant recruiting metrics and pivot recruiting strategy based on the information they represent
  • Track applicable referral and signing bonus information for the candidates you are working with
  • Pull reports from the company ATS, analyze and present data in a clear, graphic format

Qualifications and Skills

  • At least 1 year of recruiting for executive level positions
  • Experience recruiting for the trades (hands-on, field-based positions)
  • An understanding of construction management and architectural industries is highly preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly desired
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or a combination of education and experience which demonstrates an in-depth understanding of full-cycle recruiting
  • Direct construction field experience is a huge plus
  • Proficiency in an applicant tracking system (ATS) such as JazzHR and an HRIS such as BambooHR is highly preferred
  • Experience with LinkedIn Recruiter
  • Computer savvy; proficiency in MS Office Suite required. Experience with BlueBeam Revu and web-based applications such as Airtable, Slack and Smartsheet is highly desired
  • Familiarity with analytics and reporting as related to recruiting is highly desired (i.e. cost per hire, time to hire, etc.)
  • Knowledge of general HR policies and procedures as they relate to staffing, compensation and benefits, Equal Employment Opportunity
  • Familiarity with popular free and paid job boards and recruiting sites like Ziprecruiter, Monster, Indeed, etc.
  • Well-honed interpersonal skills; stellar written and verbal communication skills
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with management, employees, vendors, and general public
  • Resiliency is a must. Rejection does not rattle you one bit!
  • Negotiation skills are highly valuable and desired
  • Demonstrate discretion and treat all applicant and proprietary company information as strictly confidential

  • Be flexible and adaptable, this position requires multi-tasking, composure, objectivity, patience, and diligence

  • Maintain an impeccable attention to detail, and proactively follow through to keep process moving on multiple searches (deadline driven and metrics-based mindset – you’re a professional juggler and cat herder!)
  • US Work Authorization
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
